Full Description

Steeler build in Friesland, and they build the kind of boat that makes you look twice at the plate thickness before you look at the upholstery. This Explorer 50 Pilothouse was launched in March 2024 to a Martin Bekebrede design, and she has covered 744 hours since. That is the whole story in a sentence. She is a current-generation Dutch steel explorer with barely a season on her, available now rather than in two years' time. Underneath she is properly made. Grade A steel, 5 and 6mm in the hull and 4mm in the superstructure and deck, multi hard chine, 40 tonnes displacement on just under fifteen metres, and CE Category A certification. The propellers sit protected behind keel soles, which tells you what she was drawn for. What lifts her out of the ordinary is the systems fit. Humphree zero-speed stabilisers hold her steady at anchor as well as underway, which is the single most requested feature on a liveaboard and the one most boats of this size go without. There is a 16kW Northern Lights generator with 151 hours on it, 1.5kW of solar across four panels, a 1,250Ah service bank, a 120 litre an hour watermaker and a Starlink Maritime antenna. She can sit at anchor indefinitely without anyone thinking about shore power. Handling is equally civilised, with bow and stern thrusters, hydraulic steering and helms both inside the pilothouse and up on the flybridge. Inside, two cabins and five berths, with a kingsize island bed in the owner's cabin and en suite heads to both. The galley is Miele throughout, induction hob with a teppanyaki plate, steam and hot air combi oven, dishwasher and a proper freezer with an ice maker, sitting on Corian over PVC floors with underfloor heating. Webasto and Kabola heating, air conditioning, a 43 inch retractable television and a Fusion system throughout. Her mast lowers and the radar arch folds, taking air draft from 7 metres down to 3.5, so the Dutch and German canals are open to her on the way to anywhere else. She lies at the sales office in Sneek and can be seen seven days a week.
