18-metre Van Lent Custom Built Live Aboard. Steel hull, 1956 build with comprehensive 2008 refit. Three cabins, eight berths, off-grid electrical architecture with solar.
A piece of Royal Van Lent heritage in genuinely useful form. Built in 1956 — just seven years into the Feadship era and at the height of Van Lent's creative period — La Qrooze carries the same design pedigree as the more celebrated Feadship motor yachts but offers it in an 18.19-metre live-aboard package. The hull is steel, built to the round bilge form characteristic of Dutch quality yachts of her era. She underwent a comprehensive transformation in 2008 into her current configuration: three cabins, eight berths, en-suite owner's and guest cabins, granite kitchen worktops, AEG induction galley, and electric blackout blinds. The 2008 refit was followed by a 2025 battery bank update bringing her off-grid electrical architecture to current standard. Twin Daewoo MD126T diesels with just 1,200 hours, 4,000 litres of fuel, and 2,000 litres of water give her useful range for the European inland waterway network and beyond. 2025 CVO certificate in hand.
Steel hull, round bilge form. Built to the standard that characterised Dutch quality motor yachts of the Van Lent era: smooth, sea-kindly lines that prioritise motion comfort over a sharp entry speed. Built to last; 70 years on, still very much in service.
Twin Daewoo MD126T diesel engines, each producing 200 horsepower at 147 kilowatts. Stainless steel shafts with hydraulic gearboxes, fixed-pitch propellers. 1,200 hours on the engines, conservative use, no record of major mechanical intervention. Westerbeke generator, 923 hours, running in silent separator configuration. Daewoo MD126T is a South Korean-designed marine diesel; engines today operate under the Doosan brand. Robust, straightforward four-stroke diesels.
2008 refit foundation, with 2025 battery update bringing the cells to current spec. Victron Quattro 24/8000/200 inverter-charger (8,000 W output, 200 A charging current). Victron battery monitoring system and Victron isolation transformer for shore power. Solar input from eight panels, managed by four Mastervolt Solar Charge Master 60 controllers. A properly engineered off-grid electrical architecture, not an afterthought.
Fuel: 4,000 litres Fresh water: 2,000 litres Holding tank: 500 litres
Raymarine Hybrid Touch plotter, A70D depth/fish finder, autopilot, electronic compass, and Em-Trak A100 AIS transceiver. Complete and functional fit-out for European inland waterways and coastal passages. No radar in the specification — worth noting for anyone intending coastal use in reduced visibility.

Salon features electric blackout blinds, AEG induction galley, AEG combination oven, Liebherr fridge, dedicated Liebherr drawer, and AEG dishwasher. Three LCD televisions.
