ASTERIA is a 162’ (49.38m) expedition yacht, first launched in 1970 by Anastassiades & Tsortanides. Initially built as an ocean-going rescue tug, she was converted into a luxury yacht by Northport Engineering in 2000/2002. A major refit in 2019 added modern interiors while preserving her classic charm, and the latest 2024 updates ensure she remains in peak mechanical and aesthetic condition. With accommodation for 14 guests in 7 staterooms, and a crew of 16, ASTERIA is equipped for exploration with her helipad, Nitrox dive compressor, jacuzzi, and various water toys. Whether cruising the Northwest Passage or relaxing in the Mediterranean, ASTERIA is a yacht of adventure and comfort.
Built as a rescue tug by Anastassiades & Tsortanides in 1970, ASTERIA has a steel hull and robust construction, allowing her to operate in extreme conditions. Her refits in 2002 and 2019 updated her interiors and added luxury amenities like a jacuzzi, while the latest work in 2024 ensured she is in perfect mechanical shape for future voyages.
Equipped with a Caterpillar 3516B main engine, generating 1,850hp, ASTERIA cruises at 11 knots with a maximum speed of 14 knots. The yacht is also equipped with Quantum zero-speed stabilizers, making her comfortable even in rough conditions. The vessel includes two Caterpillar generators and modern navigation systems for long-range expeditions.
The yacht features advanced navigation and communication systems, including Furuno radars, GPS, autopilot, and VSAT 900 Sailor for seamless internet connectivity. ASTERIA is also equipped with a Cruisair A/C system, comprehensive fire safety systems, and dual watermakers to support extended journeys.

ASTERIA is equipped with a full ECDIS navigation suite, including Furuno radars, GPS, autopilot, and wind and depth instruments. The helm offers a comfortable and well-equipped pilothouse for easy operation, even in challenging conditions, with bow and stern thrusters enhancing manoeuvrability.
ASTERIA accommodates up to 14 guests in 7 staterooms, including a full-beam owner’s suite with panoramic views and en-suite facilities. The yacht also has a movie salon, library, gym, and a spacious alfresco dining area. The crew quarters provide accommodation for up to 16 crew members, ensuring exceptional service throughout the voyage.
The expansive decks offer various areas for relaxation and activity, including a sun deck with jacuzzi, helipad, and ample seating. The upper deck features alfresco dining, while the aft deck is perfect for preparing for water sports with gear storage and a platform for launching tenders.
ASTERIA is equipped with two 25-person life rafts, two 6-person Viking rafts, and 31 immersion suits, as well as an extensive firefighting system, including 10 fire stations with hoses. The yacht also features smoke detection throughout and several EPIRBs and SARTs for emergency signalling.
